Getting Excited about walking

Morgan and I are starting to take walks together in the afternoons when the weather cooperates. Here's a map of what we walked last wednesday, followed by a hike on Pinnacle mountain with Amber and Thor on my back

Spring Sneaking in?

Lately, the weather has been so back and forth.. We had a nice run of warmth, and Amber and I decided we were going to start a container garden in the back... We went and picked out the perfect Blue planters... and even chose some bulbs and seeds to start working into the dirt.

Now its cold again, who knows what to expect. Our daffodils are growing nicely... Purple tulips should bloom soon. We also have some seedlings starting to come up of snapdragons and sweet pea... the gladiolas I do not expect to see for at least 2 months or so.

We also got Amber a new bike, which she rode all the way to the park one day, and then it rained for 3 days non stop... (EVIL)... we also went to a birthday party, where she got to ride her bike with her friends. She fell about 4 times, but each time got back up and started riding again. I swear, she is turning into the biggest little lady on the planet!

I suppose...

I suppose all the pain is worth it. On Friday at weigh in, I found out that I've converted 3.5 pounds of fat into muscle! Which is a lot better results than just looking at total weight, because I only lost a half of a pound this week. I'm still at 6.5 pounds lighter than when I started, and I have dropped 3% in my BMI.

I am finding it difficult to have support from home. Amber asks for meals I can't eat, and I'm not strong willed enough yet to cook it without eating it. Morgan went grocery shopping and I met him at the store, only to find that everything in the basket was inedible for me... when I mentioned that I couldn't have anything he bought, I was told it sucks for me.... So I got my own basket and went shopping for healthy food. This weekend should be challanging, as it is the first weekend on the diet that everyone is home.

In other news....

I have been given an amazing opportunity to grow my Event Planning Business. I have partnered up with a local event pro, and will basically be taking leads from him, and representing his business in the process.

I have been marketing my company for the last few weeks, and already have two clients booked (within days of each other). So now I am really getting to do what I love the most, and am really excited about growing it into my full time job. It makes me happy.

I found David Tutera on Facebook and asked him how he got his big break. Not that I want to be on TV, or to publish books, necessarily.. but everyone goes from being new on the scene to being the one everyone calls first for an event... (not that publishing books or being on TV is such a bad thing either... )

I am going to love 2009 even more than 2008, I can tell. Its all falling into place, and I am very happy about that!

My Trainer is Trying To Kill Me!

So, first week, survived... lost about 5 pounds in the 12 week challange. Which is great. The diet has been hard, but surprisingly for different reasons. I have found that I have no problem getting the 100 grams of protein and the 80 oz of water, like others are complaining about... I seem to have issues with sticking to my schedule. Saturday, when I had the day to myself... and spent it hanging with the girls, and shopping... I could not get a set schedule to save my life! (thus lost a pound of water, bad thing - but i'm blaming it on the beer i had sunday it was the superbowl.. how can you not have a beer?).

Second week is seriously trying to kill me. Tuesday, show up and we are outside, running a half mile. Mind you, its about 38-40 degrees outside... and I don't run! To make matters worse, I was running late, so I had to run by myself. I quasi jogged it out in 5 min 59 seconds. But then had a bit of hyperventilation, and crashing blood sugar.. my sinuses had dried out due to the cold, dry air, and now everytime I took a breath, it tasted like blood... disgusting.

Wednesday, I'm having a hard time moving around.. start my day with a jacuzzi dip, and end it with biofreeze on every inch of my legs. This morning, just a bit stiff, painful walking up and down stairs... moving from standing to sitting etc hurts a lot. DREADING the gym, and when I walk in, I'm told to go downstairs to the aerobics room.... grreat. Its lunges, squats, 2 foot steps and crunches day. at this point, I'd love to soak in a hyperbaric chamber, so that gravity can't make me hurt more... I'd love that. Seriously. Can someone deliver?
