A new Space for me

I have been in full on Martha mode this weekend. I never know when she will possess me.. but this weekend, I got the bright idea of turning the sitting room in our bedroom into my office. We hired a new person last week, which permanently pushed me to the dining room. (yuck). I have found that my doing three different jobs in the last few weeks is very frustrating when I don't have my own space. Having to stack up works in progress for dinner, or guests, makes it difficult to start the next day where I left off!

One night (in a dream) I had a great idea to make curtains to divide the space, because I hate Work in the bedroom, and I hate people coming into that portion of my house... it's the only bubble I have that is MY PERSONAL SPACE and not invaded by others... So I ran out to the fabric store and found this beautiful fabric (turns out I was inspired by Ray's new fabrics we offer for rental) and built this beautiful fabric wall.

I also got myself a desk, and a new file cart (which for some reason I can't get the file drawer attached properly), and brought my stuff down from the upstairs office. I worked on this all day saturday afternoon, and didn't even realize it was almost 8 pm when Morgan called about dinner (he was in a tennis tournament all weekend)

I must say, I am definitely more inspired to plan events in my new space, a space that is unlike anything else in the house, and completely for my purpose... (not a dual purpose space). This portion of our room has become notorious for collecting junk... as we did not know what to do with it. I spent all day Sunday cleaning up the bedroom, as I am ready to show my space off to everyone!

Morgan even had me make some demi-curtains to spice up his office too!

Preparing for an invasion

Amber will have her first slumber party tonight. Slumber Parties are different from sleepovers, because there are more than one kid coming! We have invited four girls from class, and I have the twins confirmed so far.

Amber has definitely started picking up on mommy's planning. She selected invitations to send to her friends, and when they could not be found Friday morning, she was heart broken. We had to send notes in mommy's stationary, and not her special cards. Friday night, we made a menu, and a list, and went to the store to get the items. Amber definitely has the "big picture" figured out, we are having a High School Musical sleepover, complete with themed plates and cups. We will grill hot dogs, and smores (thanks to daddy's suggestion), followed by popcorn and a movie.

She is upstairs right now, listening to her High School Musical 3 soundtrack.. practicing singing. it is so cute! I hope the weather cooperates so we can go to the park this afternoon, and pinnacle tomorrow to meet up with more friends.

She also already has the second sleepover planned. we had to divide the friends up into groups, because there were so many she wanted to invite.

I'll post the survival story with photos!

Snowing March Eve...

So I've been trying to assure both the Carnival Committee and the Bride that we will have perfect weather for their outdoor events (9 days apart.... and 2 weeks away), and last night did not help make them feel better.

I must say, last year was weird like this too. It was about 70 degrees on Saturday, we climbed pinnacle... and then on monday, there was snow. Last week we were hovering around 65 and 70 degrees, and last night, it began to snow on the way to the movies. It was snowing heavier when we came out, and after shopping at walmart it was STILL snowing. Large flakes that blind you when they land on your eyes.

Very pretty to watch, knowing it would not stick to the roads, the mountains around us getting a light dusting.

Here is what Chenal looked like at 6 pm
