Holidays are coming

I can't believe it. Thanksgiving is a little over a week away. We still don't have plans..... or a menu... or know if we even need a menu! I don't know where the time has gone, but I'm pretty sure I know what I've been doing!

Amber has become such a big help... I keep forgetting how big she is, but she will get sterling out of his crib and hold him to calm him down... this morning she put his bumpo on the couch and started watching cartoons together while I finished getting ready to take her to school.

Sterling is growing and growing like a weed! He's weighing in at 14 pounds, and loves peas, pears and sweet potatoes! Drooling up a storm, and sometimes fussy... I wish his first tooth would go ahead and poke through I don't like feeling helpless when he's hurting!

Again

I'm apparently the worlds' worst blogger, because I wait 3-4 months between posts! I know you can back date them, to make it look like you are on top of things, but that wouldn't be an accurate picture of our lives!

We obviously had the baby! August 4th 8:01 pm 8 lbs 13 oz 20 inches... I was induced at 8 am, after missing my August 2nd due date.

This is his 2 month check up photos... I don't seem to have any "younger" pics on this laptop.

Now he is 3 months old, teething, weighs 13 lbs and is 24 inches long. We've also already started on rice cereal and slowly introducing baby food because he can't get enough to eat it seems!

business is good... I'm wrapping up a wedding this weekend, and then FINALLY going to take my maternity leave... sort of. I'm spending the last two months of the year enjoying my family for the holidays and planning for 2011. I've got a LOT of things lined up to make my business explode, and I need to take the time to have a planned course of action so I'm not simply reacting all year!

The waiting game

Well, we have had an adventurous few weeks, to say the least! I'm now 16 days till my due date, and basically have begun to ignore the fact that I'm pregnant. When I am waiting for him, I am glued to a timer... or analyzing every little thing to see if it is a "sign"... and its making me bananas!

Poor Morgan has been "grounded" and not being able to travel, even to NWA is starting to make him stir crazy! My mother in law has basically moved here now ( we got a one way ticket here, and no real plans on the future).

Last check, I was 50% and 1 cm... which means nothing. I have days that contractions come non stop, and on schedule... for hours... but they aren't progressing anything! Its been incredibly hot here, the other day it reached 103 with a heat index of 116! Needless to say, I try to stay INside as much as possible!

Amber lost her second front tooth, within 4 days of losing the first one.... so now she's got this awesome toothless smile!

That is all for now, I suppose... I may get up and start walking around the mall or something soon!

Junie B Jones? Junie B CRAZY

Today was Amber and my first day of summer break with no work, no camp, no rules just right!
I did a lot of work for clients between 4:30 and 9:30 this morning, then we headed out to physical therapy and a "surprise" day for her.

Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus Tour were making a stop at the Barnes n Noble in Little Rock, and I kept it a secret all day! Once we pulled into the parking lot, she started going nuts!

Of course, we didn't stay for the book signing, as there were WAY too many kids to stand in line for! This was the crowd 15 minutes BEFORE the show even started!

Getting Ready

We are now 18 days till we are full term. I hope we can make it to 37 weeks... at least by then we could hit 6 pounds or so. Sterling has settled into position, and is making it difficult for me to walk!
I'm officially on "medical leave" - but of course I have weddings in the fall that will keep my brain occupied, so that's good.

We had our baby shower the Friday before Father's Day, and once Morgan returned from Pebble Beach (Yes, he went to the US Open for Fathers Day... jealous?) we started purchasing the leftover items we need for the baby to come. So far, we have the car seat/stroller and the pack and play. Tomorrow we'll go back for the swing and the monitor, and the little things we need along the way. I forgot that Morgan has no real baby experience... and we have been having lessons along the way - how to use the car seat, how to collapse the stroller and use the brakes on it. We have packed the bag for Sterling, and will start working on packing my bag this week.

Amber comes back home tomorrow, and we have missed her like crazy! I can't wait to see her! Next week is going to be all about us getting to spend time together!

First Annual Pile Family Vacation!

Thursday was Amber's 8th birthday. Two years ago, we sort of started a trend. Every other year she gets a party, every other year we take a trip. In 2008, we went to the beach for a week - and got married too. The fact that her birthday coincides with Memorial Day weekend, and that we have her only every other Memorial Day also makes this plan make sense!

This year, we brought the WHOLE Pile family with us to Dallas, Texas for 5 days of Fun! The fact that Wendy came was a surprise, until Amber was picked up at school by her. Then Audrey and Scarlett flew into Dallas, and just walked in the room! (of course Amber knew by then, bc Wendy kind of kept talking where Amber could hear her... )

We had a great time, found the most amazing place to go on vacation, and hope to go back alot! Dallas has quickly become my new favorite city (sorry New Orleans....), and We've already learned the tricks - don't go for the weekend.... go during the week when everyone else has to be at work!

Almost forgot!~

That one I AM doing a monthly post for!

Got some 'splainin to do!

My last post was in February! MY how time flies! Not that NOTHING has been going on... maybe too much has!

Business side: My website has been redesigned, and I love it! www.allindetails.com
Things have been busy, between my juggling things at PT, trying to build my business, being pregnant, taking care of Amber and Morgan traveling soo much! He's becoming quite the go-to guy for Medical Tourism, and we are all so very proud of him! He was even published in an industry magazine on a topic he pitched and wrote himself! He's been traveling all over the world, so far in the last 6 months he's been to Columbia, Costa Rica, Korea, I feel like there's been more - Mexico and Puerto Rico were supposed to happen, and then there's all the travel within the United States... We've put a travel freeze on the month of July bc that's ALL we need is for him to be out of pocket and something happen with the baby!

Family Side: Amber is turning 8 this week! We have an amazing trip to Dallas planned, she's always complaining that we go on these fun trips without her (while she's at her dad's) and that SHE wants to go to Dallas or New Orleans too! So off we go! We're staying at the Great Wolf Lodge - the biggest waterpark she's ever going to see! I told her that Wild River Country could fit in our house compared to the size of this place... and her eyes got huge! There's talks of going to Six Flags too... but I don't know if the baby and I can take walking all day in the heat like that.. At least the water park is indoors AND part of our hotel, so worst case scenario I can float around in the lazy river while She and Morgan go nuts on the slides... or go back to the room for a nap. My girl has grown up so much.... I can't believe she's already 8! (that in no way is a reflection of ME getting older, of course...)

Baby News: I've been gettting bigger and bigger and thank GOD I'm at 7 months now! Its getting really hot, and hard for me to do things. Last week the doc wanted me to come in to be monitored because something didn't seem right. I was having contractions for about 5 hours....They weren't terribly PAINFULL, but enough to disrupt activities, and averaging between 5-7 minutes apart. Sterling does NOT like things on my belly, and tends to kick them off. Literally. So he was not happy about the two monitors strapped down on my belly, and spent the entire time forcefully kicking trying to remove them. Sent home with the order to try and drink a gallon of water a day, and a few days of bedrest. Drinking a gallon of water is pretty IMPOSSIBLE when there's a super active baby making your bladder super tiny in there! And bedrest.... during the busiest season of the year? um... yeah, that hasn't happened yet... I know it NEEDS to. I go to the doctor tomorrow. I'm pretty sure he's going to tell me I have to stop working. At least for a while. Its not that I'm being a weenie, or just uncomfortable... I hit wall around 2 pm, and then its painful. Its hard for me to walk around, my legs feel like they way 100 pounds each... I feel like sleeping for a few hours, but can't... Getting off work at 5, it is a struggle to get in and out of the car to pick amber up... and the last 4 steps into the house from the garage are like climbing Everest! Amber has started making ME dinner these days... I think she's realizing just how hard it is for me to even get a glass of water!

Home news: We've been shaking things up. Amber is back in her orignal room... which was painted blue for Sterling, then his furniture came and could only fit on ONE wall.. all of it side by side.... so we had to swap her back. Now she has this cool room with modern pop of purple against the blue, with cool decals and fun accessories. Sterling is now in a brown room, but it works well with the monkeys and dots... the nursery is ALMOST completed. I just have a few final touches on the decor to do, as well as finish getting Amber completely moved out of the room (we need a closet intervention)I've made a ginormous "honey do" list of things I want to get done around the house before the baby comes... a pre-nesting plan I suppose... Would you expect less from a planner? It was actually Morgan's idea, as we were talking about how overwhelming it is that we have projects we want to do but haven't started yet... and his suggestion: "why don't you treat it like an event, and just make out a timeline like you would for a wedding. What all needs to get done, steps needed to make it happen, and then how can we accomplish it all in the amount of time we have left".... Super Idea honey! I guess he DOES understand why I am awesome at what I do... =D

TODAY: we get to take Amber to the Hospital for a Big Sister class, where we'll do the hospital tour, learn about baby care, and she gets her official "Big Sister" tshirt to wear at the hospital!

I still need to book a photo session for us, I would like to have the belly pics in time for my baby shower next month, but then again, I want BIG belly shots... and right now, I either have big belly or not so big belly - depending on where Sterling is, which changes every 45 minutes!

I've also got a photography plan to capture the anticipation, and then the first sight shots from Labor... I don't want national geographic coverage... But THIS time, I want my birth plan to be actually carried out! The family bonding time is very important to us. Amber will be the first person to meet her brother (after Morgan and I of course) and I want it all on film!

I've got photos to post, but they may just be posted as an album, I've got to go eat now... It is time!

Feburary Follies

Amber had a solo at her school play... and an entourage of 8 people to watch her! she did great! We went to the doctor the other day, and officially have the sex of the baby date scheduled.... so keep your ears perked for March 19th. It seems like forever from now... but I'm sure 6 weeks will fly by! we got to hear the heartbeat again, which was nice... i shot a video of that too, but will upload it later. Today we woke up to about 2 inches of snow... and it has been snowing nonstop ever since... they are saying at least 6 inches today, but I think due to my elevation, and the size of these flakes, we are going to get closer to 8. Morgan got stuck, and I had to go rescue him... which almost was too much for the sequoia (I KNEW i should have gotten 4wd)

January

Well well well..... I had to take a mental health day today. I have been so busy from the new year that I neglected to take any time off!

We went to the doctor earlier this month, Amber and Morgan came with me. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was nice.... Amber got to see the baby, and it was moving around so much - almost look like it was dancing in there! The ultrasound moved our due date to August 5th, and the cyst has gone down considerably, so surgery does not appear to be in our future!

As far as the baby goes... I am trying not to take sides on what gender it is....whatever will be will be.... but at the same time i want to know ASAP! When looking at all of the wives tales, I keep scoring 50 percent, which doesn't help at all! The doc says the heartrate was 165, and some say that a heart rate over 140 is a girl... but then again, it IS a morgan baby, and he doesn't do anything slow..... so it could just be a Pile.... I found a gender prediction kit that boasts 80 percent accuracy, and it says boy... so again, we're 6 of one, half a dozen of the other! only 8 more weeks to go to find out!

I just got back from New Orleans last week. I went to the Special Event Show.... which was amazing, and my head is still spinning from all of the great ideas! I have a lot of new bridal clients I am meeting with over the next few weeks, and I can't wait to see how we can work in some of my newfound inspiration!
